Project Type: Alterations and Additions

The aim of this project was to provide a sympathetic contemporary addition to a period style home; maintaining the character and ‘feel’ of the home whilst simultaneously providing a more modern style of living. The design aesthetic pays respect to the original architecture whilst providing modernised architectural elements (large, contemporary windows etc) to the rear.

Additions were on the south side of the house facing the rear garden and incorporated a new ground floor bathroom, kitchen and living area, a new upstairs gallery, master bedroom and ensuite.

Sun and light penetration were achieved by skylights and highlight windows to create a bright, airy contemporary space.
