Project Type: New Contemporary House with Secondary Dwelling

This project is a new two storey residence and an additional granny flat on a narrow, sloping site with a southern aspect.

The brief was to create a modern, contemporary style home with a light, airy feeling throughout. An open internal spine flows through the house to connect all the rooms in a clear and rational circulation pattern. To address the sloping site, a split-level solution was adopted which provided the opportunity to create interesting internal spaces as a progression through the house. Views to the south are complimented with north facing high level windows allowing sun and light to infiltrate the house. Where possible, living and communal areas also face the north to take advantage of sun and light.
